Binance's daily candle for BTCUSDT on October 10, 2025: open, high, low, close, then volume figures.

The October 10 crash by the numbers

That Friday BTC opened at $121,662, fell as far as $102,000 and closed at $112,774. Turnover reached $7.35 billion on Binance, roughly triple the day before. ETH fell to $3,435 from a $4,368 close the day before, a 21% intraday drop. SOL touched $168.79 against $220.93.

Altcoins took harder wicks. XRP traded as low as $1.25 after closing at $2.80, a 55% plunge inside one day. ADA reached $0.27 from $0.82. SUI hit $0.56 from $3.41. Every one of them closed far above its low, so the wicks were deeper than the daily moves look.

Volume during the October 10 crash

Trading volume jumped on every major. ETH's quote volume on Binance went from $2.26 billion to $5.95 billion. SOL rose from $0.73 billion to $1.93 billion. XRP saw the biggest multiple, with $0.31 billion on October 9 and $1.42 billion on October 10.

The rebound started fast. BTC closed at $110,644 on October 11, then at $114,959 on October 12. That second close was $2,185 above the October 10 close. Measured from the October 6 high of $126,200, the crash low was 19% lower. Today's BTC price is about 34% under that high.

Where the majors trade now

Nobody got back to the old levels. BTC's best price since then was $116,400 on October 27, 2025, so it never reclaimed $117,000. ETH peaked at $4,292 on October 13 and SOL at $211.25 on October 14. XRP's best was $2.70.

Then came the slide. BTC reached $57,800 on July 1, 2026, and ETH got to $1,505 on June 6. SOL touched $60 the same day. XRP bottomed at $0.99 on August 14.

Against the October 9 close, those 2026 lows are deep. BTC's low is 52% under it, ETH's 66%, XRP's 65% and SOL's 73%. Those figures show the crash day was not the bottom of the move.

Today's prices sit in between. ETH is near $2,495, down about 43% from its October 9 close. SOL, near $110, is down 50%, and XRP at $1.41 is down 50%.

Smaller coins fared worst after the October 10 crash

DOGE is 65% below its October 9 close. ADA is down 69%, AVAX 63% and SUI 68%. LINK, at $12.82, is off about 42%. BNB held up best among the alts on this list at 40% lower. It still wicked to $860 that day, 31% under its prior close of $1,255.

The October 10 crash comparison starts from the last close before the event, so it measures the whole year and not just the wick. Prices come from Binance spot candles read on October 10, 2026.
