Prices, market caps, volumes and supply figures on our price and converter pages come from CoinGecko, a crypto data provider that aggregates trading data from exchanges. Prices are quoted in US dollars unless a page says otherwise.
Refresh
Our servers request the data in one batch and keep it for about five minutes, so each page shows a recent value and the time printed on the page comes from the data itself. If the provider is unavailable, the page says so and shows no number instead of an old or made-up one.
Price history table
The yesterday, one week, one month and one year figures are daily values from the same provider, refreshed every six hours. The change to now compares them with the current price.
Kenyan shilling conversions
Shilling rates are the provider's own quotes. Exchanges and mobile money services charge fees and use their own rates, so the amount you receive can differ from the figure shown.
