The Chainlink Reserve now holds 6.12 million LINK, worth $85.6 million, according to Chainlink's own reserve dashboard. The same page lists an average cost basis of $11.21 per token. BSCN flagged the milestone on X and said the reserve keeps growing every week.

Where The Reserve Gets Its LINK
Chainlink launched the reserve on August 7, 2025, in a post on its blog. Revenue from large enterprise customers and onchain service fees gets converted into LINK. A system called Payment Abstraction handles the swap. Users can pay in gas tokens or stablecoins, and Chainlink services plus decentralized exchanges convert the payment into LINK. The tokens then land in the Chainlink Reserve contract.
At launch, Chainlink said the reserve held over $1 million in LINK. Today the dashboard shows $85.6 million. Part of that jump comes from buying more tokens, and part from the LINK price moving.
Chainlink also said it does not expect any withdrawals for multiple years. The contract sits on Etherscan, where the balance is open to anyone. On the dashboard chart, holdings rise one small step at a time. There is no dip anywhere. BSCN described the tokens as removed from supply, which fits that plan.
Weekly Buys Are Getting Smaller
The total only goes up. Look at the weekly adds, though, and the picture shifts. Ten weekly inflows sit in the table, running from July 30 to October 1. The largest was 139,956 LINK on August 6. The latest, on October 1, was 74,703 LINK, about 47% lower.
The first four inflows, from July 30 to August 20, averaged about 126,600 LINK. The four from September 3 to September 24 averaged about 93,400. That is a drop of roughly 26%. At today's price, the October 1 buy was worth about $1.04 million.

Add up the ten rows and you get roughly 1.05 million LINK. The timing is oddly regular, too. Each transfer fell on a Thursday, so October 8 is the date to circle.
The "bigger and bigger" line from BSCN holds true for the total. The weekly additions are what changed. The Chainlink Reserve is still growing, just at a slower weekly pace than it did in the summer.
How The Reserve Compares With The LINK Price
LINK trades near $13.96 on CoinGecko. That is up about 25% over 30 days and down 3% in the past day. The price sits roughly 25% above the reserve's $11.21 average cost. On market cap, CoinGecko puts it 13th at $10.44 billion.
Put the stash in context. CoinGecko counts 748 million LINK in circulation, so the 6.12 million held is under 1% of it, about 0.82%. A single weekly buy is a rounding error next to that, around 0.01%. The reserve is building slowly, and the dashboard shows that plainly. We covered another Chainlink milestone when Wyoming moved its state stablecoin to CCIP.
What To Watch Next
Three things are easy to track. The first is the Thursday transfer, which shows whether weekly buys keep shrinking. The second is the reserve total on the dashboard. The third is the gap between the LINK price and the $11.21 cost basis.
Nothing here is investment advice. Prices move fast, so check the figures yourself before you act on them.
