Babylon's next software release comes with a warning label. The Babylon v4.6 upgrade, proposal 26 on the Babylon Genesis chain, says it "incorporates important security fixes." The text adds that details will come only after both mainnet and testnet have upgraded.
What the Babylon v4.6 upgrade proposal says
The proposal asks validators to approve a software upgrade named v4.6. Because the fixes are sensitive, the upgrade binaries will not be published until 30 minutes before the upgrade. Babylon says it will explain the fixes later.

The upgrade is set for block 4,853,800. On October 20 the chain was near block 4,834,000, and at roughly 9.6 seconds a block that puts the switch around 12:00 UTC on Thursday, October 22. The proposal itself gives that time. It asks validators to vote yes before 10:00 UTC the same day and to prepare their binaries before the upgrade height.
Where the Babylon v4.6 upgrade vote stands
Mintscan shows the vote at 100% yes. So far 1,602,841,863 BABY have voted, out of roughly 3.05 billion bonded on the chain, and none has voted no, vetoed or abstained. That is a turnout of 52.62% against a quorum requirement of 33.4%, and Mintscan labels the outcome "Will pass."
We confirmed the tally against a public node, which reports the same yes count. Voting opened on October 19 at 09:48 UTC, runs for three days and ends on October 22 at the same minute. A proposal needs more than half of the votes cast in favor, with vetoes under one third. The chain's governance settings, queried live, match those thresholds.
What operators must do for the v4.6 upgrade
Validators are told to vote yes and then be ready on Thursday. The Babylon v4.6 upgrade steps live in the networks repository that Babylon Labs keeps on GitHub, which the proposal links. The steps are to prepare the upgrade binary, upgrade at the set height, and confirm that the node is signing new blocks. Operators who do not validate should check that their node keeps syncing.
Exchanges are preparing for it as well. Upbit announced that BABY deposits and withdrawals on the Babylon Genesis network will pause from 18:00 Korea time on October 22, which is 09:00 UTC. Trading is not affected, and the notice says services will resume once the network is confirmed stable.
BABY trading around the vote
BABY traded in a narrow band this week. It closed October 19 near $0.01215 and sat close to $0.0123 on the morning of October 20. A larger burst of volume came on October 15, when about 247 million tokens traded, and nothing since has matched it. Volume on October 19 was about 45 million.
The proposal gives a short sequence. Binaries arrive 30 minutes before the upgrade, validators install them, and Babylon explains the fixes once both its mainnet and testnet have moved to v4.6. Babylon has not said what the fixes address, so we do not either. The proposal text and the on-chain tally are the only primary facts available before Thursday.
