ZetaChain Halt Set For Dec 9 As ZETA Moves To Solana

ZetaChain halt is planned for December 9 if holders pass Proposal 2, which moves ZETA to Solana one for one and ends staking rewards at that snapshot.

ZetaChain holders are voting this Saturday on whether their network keeps running. If Proposal 2 passes, the ZetaChain halt arrives around December 9, 2026 and the layer 1 is never restarted. ZETA would then live as a native token on Solana.

Voting on ZetaHub is set to close on November 7 at 16:12 UTC. At about 13:05 UTC, Yes stood at 100 percent, participation at 83 percent and the quorum line at 40 percent. Those figures can still move until the poll shuts.

ZetaChain halt: what the vote decides

Holders already backed the direction. Proposal 68 passed on September 20 with 99.4 percent in favor. This second vote fixes the mechanics, which the ZetaChain team laid out on November 4.

At a published block height near December 9, the network records every ZETA balance. That height is the ZetaChain halt point. Liquid coins count, and so do staked ones, coins mid-unbonding and any rewards nobody has claimed yet. Right there, the chain stops. Staking rewards stop there too.

Over on Solana, ZETA turns into an SPL token. Same ticker, nine decimals and a straight one-for-one swap. The full snapshot total is minted before the claim portal opens. After that the mint authority is revoked, so nobody can mint more. The token also carries no freeze authority.

Claims after the ZetaChain halt, and the ten ZETA floor

Claims open the same day the chain stops, at hub.zetachain.com/migrate. A holder connects the account that held ZETA, signs a message naming a Solana account and receives the full balance. The post says there is no fee, no SOL is needed and a seed phrase is never requested.

There is a floor. An account needs at least 10 ZETA at the snapshot to claim. Nobody needs to unstake first, since staked and unbonding coins get credited on their own.

Coins sitting on exchanges convert with no effort from the holder. Each exchange sets and announces its own window. ZETA wrapped or sitting inside pools is a different case. Contracts cannot be claimed by a key, so the team tells holders to unwrap and exit pools before the snapshot.

ERC-20 ZETA on Ethereum is not touched by this proposal. Assets still held on the chain as ZRC-20 tokens can be claimed back from December 9. They return on their original chain, with a minimum of $5 per token.

Supply after the ZetaChain halt

The team says undistributed validator emissions will be burned instead of paid out. Per the timeline, a burn of about 4.6 million ZETA happens each month for twelve months. That is close to 55 million in total. The ceiling stays at 2.1 billion, minus whatever gets burned.

Vesting for purchasers and core contributors completes on January 1, 2027. According to the post, no newly released ZETA is sold in 2027.

Why the ZetaChain halt is happening

ZetaChain describes the shift as moving from connecting blockchains to connecting AI. Its new product, ZetaLabs, is a private AI chat app for market followers, and it is due to launch on December 9 beside the token. Features such as premium reports are planned for the first quarter of 2027.

The ZetaChain halt comes with a safeguard. The claim portal sits behind a security review by Hacken. Per the proposal, the portal opens only after that review is finished and the report is published. The SPL mint address and migration program address are also due before December 9.

Anyone holding ZETA should wait for those published details and use only the official domains named in the post. A chain closing is rare, and a fake claim page is the obvious trap while the real one is not yet live. The ZetaChain halt itself needs no action from holders before December 9.
