US spot Ether funds lost $320.1 million in the five trading days to October 16, and one fund did almost all of it. BlackRock's ETHA shed $299.0 million of that. The Ether ETF outflows were larger than the $228.4 million that left spot Bitcoin funds over the same days, according to the Farside Investors tables.

That makes the week a role reversal. The week before, from October 5 to 9, Bitcoin funds lost $678.9 million and Ether funds $542.2 million.

Day by day for the Ether ETF outflows

Monday, October 12, started with $85.4 million out, and ETHA accounted for $75.1 million of it. Tuesday was the only green day. Net inflows of $24.8 million came from Fidelity's FETH ($8.1 million) and Grayscale's mini ETH trust ($16.7 million), while ETHA recorded nothing.

Then the red came back. Wednesday lost $129.5 million, Thursday $60.3 million and Friday $69.7 million. Friday's number is exactly ETHA's number, since no other fund in the table moved.

One fund, ten outflow days

Zoom out and ETHA stands out in the Ether ETF outflows. Since October 2 it has posted outflows on ten of the eleven trading days, and only October 13 was flat. Those days add up to about $796 million, which is roughly 83% of the $955.1 million that left all Ether funds in October through the 16th.

Everyone else was mostly quiet. Grayscale's mini trust and FETH had small movements, and most columns read zero on most days. The older Grayscale ETHE fund lost $18.3 million on Thursday and nothing on the other four days.

The biggest single day in the past two weeks was October 6, with $201.9 million out. Every dollar of it came from ETHA.

How big the Ether ETF outflows are against the whole table

Farside's total row shows $12,968 million of net flows into US spot Ether funds since they launched. A $320.1 million week is about 2.5% of that. ETHA's own running total is $12,493 million, and the line for ETHE, the Grayscale fund that converted from a trust, sits at minus $5,491 million.

Put differently, October has wiped out roughly 7% of the all-time net inflow figure in sixteen days. That is our arithmetic, $955.1 million divided by $12,968 million.

Bitcoin funds had a quieter week

The Bitcoin table tells a different story. It zig-zagged. Tuesday brought in $175.7 million and Thursday a thin $5.1 million. Monday, Wednesday and Friday took out $65.4 million, $261.4 million and $82.4 million. The net was a $228.4 million outflow.

Wednesday's big loss was split between two funds, with FBTC down $152.7 million and IBIT down $110.9 million. Tuesday's gain came from IBIT at $65.9 million and FBTC at $103.1 million.

IBIT, BlackRock's Bitcoin fund, was down $165.4 million on the week, and Fidelity's FBTC lost $60.2 million. For October as a whole, Bitcoin funds are down $614.7 million against $955.1 million for Ether funds.

Fund flows are reported daily and can be revised, so treat the figures as of October 16. This article describes flows and is not investment advice.
