GTC price analysis after the Upbit listing: an hourly spike to $0.393 on $9.5M volume, the fair value gap it left, and two scenarios with clear triggers.

Gitcoin's token made a 137% one-hour swing from low to high on October 12, and the trigger sits on a public page. Upbit posted a notice adding GTC to its KRW and USDT markets, and Binance's GTC/USDT pair jumped within the same hour. This GTC price analysis looks at what the chart looked like before the notice and where the levels sit now.

What the candle did

The notice went up at 19:00 Korea time, which is 10:00 UTC. In that hourly candle GTC opened at $0.1658, ran to $0.3930 and closed at $0.2901. About $9.5 million traded in the hour, against less than $0.3 million in each hour before it. Upbit's notice listed trading as starting at 19:30 Korea time and gave a reference close of 0.1818 USDT for the token.

The day ended at $0.2816, which was still 55% above the open. Fading started soon after. The 00:00 UTC candle on October 13 dipped to $0.2342 on roughly $2 million of volume. Price sits near $0.24 as of 05:00 UTC.

This was not GTC's first burst. The daily chart shows a run that began on September 30 and topped out on October 5 at $0.2490 on about $35 million of volume. Price then ranged between $0.14 and $0.22 for a week before the Upbit candle arrived.

GTC price analysis: the structure behind the spike

On the four-hour chart the listing candle left a large bullish fair value gap between $0.1771 and $0.2752. That is the empty space between the candle before the spike and the one after it. Below it sits a bullish order block from $0.1565 to $0.1771, and the spike started from a sweep of the $0.1767 swing low.

The daily trend reads as up, because a bullish break of structure printed on September 18 and price now trades well above all three of its daily averages. Bitcoin adds a supportive backdrop since it trades above its own rising 100-day average, so the broader regime is not working against the token.

GTC price analysis: levels and two scenarios

In the GTC price analysis the nearest reference above is the October 5 high at $0.2490. Above that, the top of the gap at $0.2752 is the next test, then the spike peak at $0.3930. Below price, the October 9 swing high at $0.2240 now matters as support, followed by the $0.1936 high from October 11.

For the upside, the trigger is a four-hour close above $0.2752. That would put the $0.3930 peak back in play, while a close under $0.2490 afterwards would cool the idea.

For the downside, the trigger is a four-hour close under $0.2240. That points toward $0.1936 and then the order block near $0.1771. The spike left little trading history in the $0.25 to $0.39 area, so price can travel quickly either way. Every level in this GTC price analysis comes from closed Binance candles. The levels describe structure only and are not trade advice.
