Spark Morpho Vault Timelocks: Zero-Delay Allocator Changes From Oct 26

The Spark Morpho vault timelocks plan cuts allocator and penalty delays to zero on two vaults and raises adapter delays to 3 and 7 days. Poll runs Oct 19 to 22.

Spark has posted a plan to change how fast its Morpho vault managers can act. The Spark Morpho vault timelocks will move in both directions, with some delays cut to zero and others raised. A Sky Forum post published on October 16 sets the dates. A Snapshot poll from October 19 to 22 decides whether the changes go ahead.

What the Spark Morpho vault timelocks would change

The post covers two vaults, the Spark Blue Chip USDT vault and the Sentora x Spark RLUSD vault. On both, the timelocks for adding or removing an allocator and for setting the force deallocate penalty would drop to zero. On the USDT vault the current delay for each is 864,000 seconds, which is 10 days.

The USDT vault also has a market adapter. Three adapter timelocks would rise from zero. Abdicate goes to seven days, skim recipient goes to three days, and the timelock-increase delay goes to seven days.

Other Spark Morpho vaults need no change, according to the post. On the USDT vault, the remaining timelocked functions already sit at 10 days and four others are abdicated.

Why Sky wants zero delay in some places

The reason comes from rules Sky Core added to its Atlas rulebook. They set timelock requirements for Morpho vaults and adapters. The post says the update brings Spark's exposure into line with them.

It explains each direction in plain terms. A zero delay on allocator changes lets a compromised allocator be removed at once. A zero delay on the penalty lets one be introduced immediately if someone tries a griefing attack. A delay on adapter changes gives sentinels a window to cancel an abdication, a skim recipient change or a later timelock increase.

The Spark Morpho vault timelocks schedule

The curator multisig queues the USDT vault changes and the RLUSD penalty change on Friday, October 16, before the poll. The post cites a rule that allows queuing ahead of approval. The change must not take effect until 24 hours after the poll closes. Spark and Soter Labs signers both take part, since the curator Safe needs both.

The RLUSD allocator change is queued on Tuesday, October 20. The adapter changes are queued and executed in one transaction on Thursday, October 22, after the poll closes, since their current delays are zero. The RLUSD changes become executable on October 23. The USDT vault changes follow on October 26.

Should the poll not approve the exact change, the post says the curator Safe or a sentinel cancels it with a revoke call first.

A deadline already pushed back

The original compliance date was October 12, when the October 8 executive vote took effect. A Spark exception extends it by three weeks, to November 2. The post says that exception passed a Sky governance poll closing on October 15 at 16:00 UTC. It was merged into the rulebook the same day.

The Spark Morpho vault timelocks need a second rule change, SAEP-24, which goes to the same Snapshot poll. It lets the Sky timelock requirements replace Spark's own three-day minimum for the functions they cover. Until it passes, the post says a zero timelock on a curator control would breach the Spark Artifact.

The post leaves two items open. Links to the staged Safe transactions and the poll result are both marked as to be added. This article reports a proposal and does not say whether the poll will approve it.
