Mesh says a crypto balance will soon pay at a Visa terminal with no extra card. The Visa Mesh stablecoin spending plan came out on October 19, and it is mostly plumbing. Nobody has been named as live yet, and there is no date.
What Mesh and Visa announced
Mesh calls itself a crypto payments network. Its press release says the partnership lets crypto and stablecoin balances be spent across Visa's acceptance network. Mesh puts that network at upwards of 175 million merchant locations in more than 200 countries and territories, and it quotes $14.2 trillion in Visa payments volume for fiscal 2025.
Mesh bills the deal as the first of its kind. A person holding crypto or a stablecoin in a supported app would tap at an ordinary contactless terminal or check out online. A Visa credential is created behind the scenes, so nothing has to be sold, sent or preloaded beforehand.

How the Mesh payment flow works
Mesh works as the go-between. Per the release, Mesh chooses the funding balance at checkout and handles the swap into cash. On the shop side nothing changes. Mesh says merchants keep their terminals and their checkout as they are.
For an app, joining is one integration. It doesn't have to build a card program. Mesh takes the role of program manager, which covers signing up users and checking their identity. Someone with funds spread over several apps could pay from each of them at Visa merchants without carrying a separate card for every one.
Two quotes frame the pitch. Mesh co-founder and CEO Bam Azizi says crypto has a last-mile problem and not a spending problem. Rubail Birwadker, Visa's Global Head of Growth, says the work with Mesh widens how digital asset balances connect to payment experiences people already trust.
What is still missing from the deal
Then comes the catch. Availability, device support and launch platforms are all marked as coming later, once rollout details are final. That means no consumer can use this today, and the release gives no name for the first app, exchange or card issuer.
Mesh does list partners on its own network. They include Kalshi, Tools for Humanity, Félix Pago, Majority and KAST. The release says that network reaches hundreds of millions of users and already links hundreds of exchanges and similar platforms. It never says any of them has signed up for Visa spending.
Some of the background figures come from other companies. Crypto.com research is credited for 774 million crypto owners worldwide as of June 2026. American Banker is credited for crypto card volumes near $1.5 billion a month in late 2025. Both are Mesh's picks for context, and Visa does not repeat them in the release.
If you were hoping this changes how you pay next week, hold off until a first platform is named. Until then the deal is a distribution agreement on paper. Any effect on card volume can only follow a launch, and the Visa Mesh stablecoin spending plan has none scheduled.
