Ethereum's Rally Runs Through A Record ETF Inflow Streak

Ethereum is trading near $2,427 after a rough day, down close to four percent as broader crypto markets cool off. Zoom out to the past month, though, and a different picture shows up. The token has climbed roughly 28 percent since late July.

This week's pullback only gives back a slice of that gain. Behind the rally sits a steady, unglamorous force. Exchange-traded funds have been buying, day after day, for longer than at almost any point since they launched. That buying pattern, not any single headline, is the clearest thread running through Ethereum's August.

A Nine-Day Buying Streak

Farside Investors tracks daily flows across every spot Ethereum ETF. Its data shows the funds posting net inflows on nine straight trading days, running from August 17 through August 27. Daily totals ranged from $30.9 million on the smallest day up to $225.8 million on August 27 alone. BlackRock's ETHA fund carried the largest share of the buying on most of those days.

CoinGecko's own market coverage flagged the same run independently, citing roughly $226 million in single-day inflows and describing it as a nine-day streak. Two separate trackers landing on the same count is a useful check. Neither number was simply copied from the other.

Farside Investors' Ethereum ETF flow table shows daily inflows through August 27, including a $225.8 million single-day total.

That kind of sustained, multi-day buying is unusual. Spot ETH ETFs have swung between inflows and outflows most weeks since launch. A run this long has not shown up since well before Ethereum's price bottomed earlier this year. It does not fully explain a 28 percent monthly gain by itself. But the timing lines up closely enough to count as a real contributing factor, not background noise.

Regulatory Clarity Adds Fuel

Separate from the ETF numbers, the SEC has been moving on crypto asset rules this month too. Under its own proposal 2026-76, small token sales could qualify for a one-time exemption of up to $5 million with no ongoing reporting. Larger offerings, up to $75 million within a 12-month window, would need only lighter disclosure than a full registration. Neither figure targets Ethereum specifically, but a clearer regulatory backdrop tends to support risk appetite across the whole sector, Ethereum included.

Traders often price in policy shifts well before the fine print gets sorted out. That makes proposals like this one worth watching, even when they never mention a specific token by name.

Where Ether Sits Right Now

As of this writing, ETH trades at $2,427.10, down 3.9 percent on the day but still up 28.4 percent over the past 30 days. Its market cap sits at roughly $293.5 billion, keeping it comfortably in second place behind Bitcoin. That is still a long way off its all-time high of $4,946.05, set back in August of last year. The current price sits at a little over half that peak.

Whether the inflow streak extends into a second week is the real test. Nine days of steady buying is rare, but not unprecedented. Prior streaks have both continued and snapped without much warning. For now, the ETF numbers give bulls a concrete data point to point to. That is something more solid than sentiment alone, even if it comes with no guarantee the pattern holds through next week.
