US Government Wallets Moved 833 BTC And 40,285 BNB, Chain Data Shows
Arkham-labeled US government wallets moved about $103M on October 6. BTC and BNB ledgers confirm the transfers and show a shorter timeline than reported.

US government wallets, as Arkham labels them, moved about $103 million in crypto on October 6, according to Cointelegraph and BSCN, which cites Lookonchain. The label is Arkham's. The transfers behind it are public, and both the Bitcoin and BNB Chain ledgers show them. Sizes match the reports, while the timing is tighter than the posts suggest.
US government wallets on Bitcoin: two dormant wallets, one shared stop
One wallet, bc1qny6adj3ah3j9nw8qv37jwelzhazlpl2f69n2et, had been funded with 264.86 BTC on February 28, 2024. It sent that sum to bc1q2khlx5kynrjrv2zef825hlmx44758c3zrrggvy at about 15:23 UTC on October 6. From there it went into 3GPnJfBN4A3zhaHAewQAfcnshf6kNKe2tw at about 15:48 UTC.
A second wallet, bc1qk2hd2uktr6dj4gppcrsu2cpx5el4mg3q83f9gd, took in 568.7 BTC on February 14, 2025 and did not spend it until October 6. It moved 568.73 BTC to bc1q8cwmp5un5pfhw0f2sd66csk9s3dh0hsnurl22f at 17:38 UTC. That address handed the coins to the same 3GPnJf address seven minutes later. Together the two batches come to 833.597 BTC. That rounds to the 833.6 in the BSCN post and sits close to the two Bitcoin lines in Arkham's screenshot.

The shared address has a busy history, with 180 transactions and 3,139 BTC received overall. It now holds nothing. Each deposit left within about 16 minutes. At 18:01 UTC it split the 568.7 BTC into outputs of 485.05 BTC and 83.68 BTC.
BSCN, citing Lookonchain, says the bitcoin went to Coinbase Prime. Cointelegraph, citing Arkham, calls the receiving addresses unlabeled. Owner names appear nowhere on the ledger, only the routing.
US government wallets on BNB Chain: 19 seconds at the first stop
BNB Chain block 126,087,800, stamped 15:56:22 UTC, holds a 40,285.07 BNB transfer from 0xac2b6e125059746db1837a874d45b9d74d211caf to 0x7f68f63fb3a9cccf352409603421e0a574fbad90. Its sender has made just two transactions, a 0.127 BNB opener at 15:54 and this one. That small opener matches a line in Arkham's table.

Nineteen seconds later the receiver passed 40,285.2 BNB on, to 0x6fb3fe7b7e78abb84ce007cbc7412c850b15a579. The extra 0.127 BNB is the opener, so the receiver forwarded everything it got. That hub held about 593,000 BNB at the time of writing and sent the same amount to 0xbe789d3203cb2f792506e7365a5c5fcb2306181e at 19:12 UTC. Lookalike addresses also dropped dust into the sender's wallet afterward, each mimicking the first and last characters of the receiver. Copying an address from transaction history is risky for that reason, so compare the full string.
What the dollar figure and the clock say
At October 7 prices the coins are worth roughly $70.2 million in bitcoin and $31.0 million in BNB, or about $101 million. Cointelegraph's $103 million reflects the dollar values Arkham showed when the post went out.
BSCN framed the moves as happening within roughly nine hours. Arkham's table labels read seven and nine hours ago, which is the age of each entry rather than the span between them. Block timestamps tell a shorter story. Arkham's three listed transfers landed between 15:48 and 17:45 UTC, so about two hours separate the first from the last. Open the linked hashes in any explorer and the same stamps appear.
A transfer into a pass-through address does not show a sale. The next hop is the one to watch for US government wallets. For a corporate holder that did sell and then buy back, see our report on Metaplanet's bitcoin sale. Prices here are October 7 snapshots and carry no forecast.
