Binance Pay Japan Goes Live At PayPay Merchants

Binance Pay Japan access began on September 30, when PayPay Corporation added the payment feature of the Binance app across its merchant network. Overseas Binance Pay users can now pay at PayPay merchants nationwide. The shops are settled in Japanese yen.
What PayPay Announced About Binance Pay
The link runs through HIVEX, a payment interoperability system developed by TBCASoft. The release says it lets each participant keep its own rules, compliance setup and commercial relationships. PayPay says users can spend on dining, shopping, accommodation and entertainment.
The company says the deal lets it direct about 48 million Binance Pay users in more than 100 countries and regions to its merchants. That user figure is dated June 1, 2026, and it excludes Binance Japan users who live in Japan.
PayPay gives its reason in the release. It says "there is a growing demand to support payments using cryptocurrencies and stablecoins" among travelers. Binance Pay joins a partner list of overseas payment services that comes mostly from Asia.
PayPay says merchants receive their sales proceeds in yen. The same release says the feature covers most PayPay merchants nationwide.

Who Can Use Binance Pay Japan
The feature is aimed at overseas visitors. A footnote in the release says Binance Japan users who live in Japan are not eligible.
A second footnote says the payment works at merchants that support both consumer-presented and merchant-presented QR modes. Shops that support only one mode are therefore out.
PayPay frames the move around tourism. It cites 3,098,900 visitors to Japan in August 2026, a record for that month, using figures from the Japan National Tourism Organization. That is below the 3,442,100 visitors PayPay cited for July, so the record refers to August only.
What The Release Leaves Out
The release does not name the tokens that work. Some early coverage of the launch referred to USDT, but PayPay's own text names no asset.
It also gives no exchange rate, no fee for travelers and no cap on spending. It does not say how many merchants support both QR modes. Those terms would decide how useful Binance Pay Japan is for a visitor on a short trip.
There is no statement from Binance in the release either. It is the only primary document found for this launch, and it comes from PayPay. Anyone planning to pay should check the Binance app for the live terms.
Part Of A Wider Push
This is not PayPay's first overseas link. A September 3 release said users of 36 payment services from 17 countries and regions could already pay at its merchants. PayPay put that reach at about 80% of foreign visitors.
PayPay says it has built links for overseas payment users since it launched in October 2018. The Binance Pay addition follows the UnionPay QR link that went live on September 3, less than four weeks earlier. Both launches run through HIVEX.
For those services, the traveler enters the price in yen and the app converts it into the home currency. PayPay and Binance Japan also worked together in November 2025, when PayPay Money was linked to Binance Japan for buying crypto.
That older service is for Japan residents. The new Binance Pay feature is for the opposite group, overseas Binance Pay users who are visiting Japan.
